Warren Platner attended Cornell University and graduated in 1941 with a degree in architecture. Before opening his own architectural office, he continued to collaborate with legendary architects Raymond Loewy, Eero Saarinen and M. Pei. Plattner has made outstanding architectural contributions throughout his career, including the windows of the George Jensen Design Center and World Trade Center World Restaurant-both in New York City. However, it was the furniture series he designed for Knoll that made Platner famous all over the world.

The Platner series was originally launched by Knoll in 1966 and is a symbol of modern furniture. Platner personally formulated the production technology for complex designs. Each chair requires more than a thousand welding and more than one hundred cylindrical steel bars.

The structural frame of the Platner Chair is available in bright nickel-plated transparent lacquer covered steel wire and painted bronze. The main frame is vertical metal wire. The chair body includes an integrally molded fiberglass shell and foam cushion.

Plattner is basically a functionalist designer, but when he designs, he often deliberately pursues a decorative effect that is produced by himself in the structure. Plattner believes that the fundamental starting point of modern design lies in rational thinking. The appearance is based on structural considerations rather than applying decoration. A truly classic work allows you to accept its existence every time you see it, and you No need to improve it. Some critics believe that the steel wire furniture series designed by Plattner has reached this state.

This wonderful and elegant furniture main frame is all assembled by electric welding steel wire.
